Las Animas County has the San Isabel National forest and Several Wildlife Areas, Wilderness Area, and 7 lakes all within an hour and a half drive. Most of the parks and lakes are between 5 and 45 minutes of Trinidad or any parcel of land. From Trinidad you can hit Santa Fe, Taos, Angle Fire, Red River, and Monarch all in 3 hours time.
